TOYOTA FJ43 1977

This 1977 Toyota FJ43 was sold new in Japan before being imported to Colombia by one of the two previous owners. It was acquired by the seller roughly twelve months ago and was imported to the United States within the past two months. The FJ43 featured a slightly longer wheelbase and body compared to the FJ40, and this truck reportedly underwent a restoration while in Bogota, Colombia that included a body off repaint in Toyota Beige along with an engine rebuild, interior update, and new suspension components. The seller notes that the majority of the parts used during the restoration were from Toyota, and multiple photos of the restoration process can be seen below. It is powered by a 4.2L inline-six mated to a 4-speed manual transmission and carries a clean Florida title in the name of the seller’s company.

Originally finished in blue with a white hard top, the truck was stripped, disassembled, and repainted Toyota Beige during the restoration, with new bumpers fitted front and rear. The exterior electrical was updated and a custom black soft top was installed. The refinished steel wheels are mounted with Sunfill Mont-Pro MT781 tires.

New fenders were fitted and rust repairs were conducted on the body and chassis. Multiple photos of the body and various individual panels during the painting process have been provided by the seller and can be seen in the gallery.

Power comes from a rebuilt 4.2L Toyota 2F inline-six that received new rings, a new thermostat, new water pump, fuel pump, and a refurbished factory radiator. It is mated to a 4-speed manual transmission that had a new clutch fitted at the time of the rebuild. All records from the seller’s ownership are available, and the engine received an oil change recently in preparation for sale.
